WHO I AM

Jessica Tietjen, J.D. 

Jessica performs and serves many roles including spouse, mother (of twin girls and a boy), leader, lawyer, talent management professional, technology enthusiast, Gallup Certified Strengths Coach, mBIT Certified Coach & Trainer, NeuroFit Certified Trainer, best-selling author, podcast host, speaker, and business consultant.

Jessica has extensive knowledge and understanding of performance practices. She has an insatiable desire to understand human performance in the context of workplaces and business results. Jessica reads over fifty books per year and hundreds of articles staying up to date on everything in neuroscience, HR, and talent management.

Jessica’s purpose and passion in life is to help people live exceptional lives. She believes workplaces must evolve their practices to support people. This passion led her to write and publish multiple books including: The Exceptional Life R-Evolution, Fiercely Cherished Beings, and Good Choice Bad Choice.

Meldina Alibasic, MHRM

As Director of Performance, Meldina performs and serves many roles including performance partner, Gallup Certified Strengths Coach, and mBIT Certified Coach & Trainer.

After earning her M.A. in Human Resources Management, Meldina has spent the entirety of her career working closely with Executive Leaders on organizational talent management initiatives to increase employee engagement, productivity, wellbeing, and other key business metrics.

Meldina is strongly passionate about helping others discover their most authentic selves and how to leverage those unique qualities to make a positive impact on their lives and the world around them. Her love of neuroscience and psychology coupled with her passion for people continue to be at the center of her drive to help organizations and individuals become truly exceptional.

HOW I GOT HERE

Jessica Tietjen

After graduating from Saint Louis University School of Law, Jessica went to work for a corporate engineering process control sales and services company. Jessica began her career focusing on a business acquisition and merger before taking on expanded leadrship responsibilities. Jessica served as Vice President of Shared Services & General counsel with responsibility for leading HR/Talent Management, Legal, Information Technology, Customer Service, Project Coordination, and Order Management.

For over ten years, Jessica shaped award-winning Talent Management programs by creating strategies for peak performance to become an exceptional workplace recognized as a three-time Gallup global Exceptional Workplace and four-time St. Louis Post Dispatch Top Workplace.

Jessica Tietjen & Meldina Alibasic

One of the greatest challenges in the world today is the increasing levels of stress and burnout people are experiencing in their lives. We look at burnout using the analogy of a fire, which requires three things to occur – oxygen, fuel, and a heat source.

  • The oxygen represents the environment, our cultures made up of systems and structures creating experiences that lead to stress and burnout.
  • The fuel represents our individual internal limiting beliefs and fears which leave us susceptible to ignition.
  • The heat source or spark represents any major challenge or crisis in our lives that serves as the spark to ignite the fuel.

Today’s world is filled with more heat sources than ever before. On top of the ones that always exist (illness, divorce, pregnancy, death), we’ve had additional crises due to the pandemic, increasing severe weather, unstable geopolitical environment, and the exponential rate of change we are experiencing as a result of technology. Technology has also expanded both our awareness of and visibility to these issues unlike at any other time in our history.

Unfortunately, we have not yet evolved our bodies and beings to adapt to this changing environment which has led to higher rates of unhappiness, loneliness, depression, stress, burnout, and even suicide. Since we are unable to eliminate or reduce the heat sources, we must instead address and evolve our environments (cultures) and ourselves.

At Evolving to Exceptional, we offer solutions that support individuals and workplaces in implementing the necessary practices to address these issues by evolving people’s performance mindsets to create more exceptional experiences in life and evolving workplace systems and structures to create more exceptional results.

Our solutions include comprehensive workplace practices and programs, workplace guidance (a blend of coaching and consulting), individual coaching, on-demand training, and tools. Our extensive experience combined with our award-winning programs including a comprehensive set of practices, training, workbooks, and activities to ensure successful outcomes, guarantees our programs will be successful.
